BUSHFIRE!!

A thunderstorm moved through the area at about 1700 hrs today. I was returning from grocery shopping, and saw a fire started by lightening strike. I radioed in and reported the position of the fire. Then I spent some time taking a few photographs before getting my groceries home and into the refrigerator.

It’s been lightly raining since roughly 1700 hours yesterday. I have three rain gauges around Uluru, and at 1700 today the maximum rainfall was 4mm (~0.15 inches). Definitley not a lot of rain, but because it has been such a steady and constant rainfall I thought I’d try road cruising. In the past, road cruising after rainfall has been very productive, but tonight all I saw was this walking stick.

I’m not proud of this shot at all, it’s pretty boring and of low quality. For now I’m sticking to my goal of a picture everyday, even if I am not proud of it. I’m pretty sure that I had the ISO set to high and that’s why this picture isn’t so good.
